Cookie

Cookies are small pieces of data that are sent by a web server and stored on the user's computer. The web client is usually a web browser. If it is necessary to open the corresponding page of a site, it sends the cookie to the web server in the form of an HTTP request.

As a rule, cookies are used to authenticate users, track user access sessions, store individual preferences and settings, and keep statistics about clients.

They serve to “recognize” (authenticate) a user who has already visited the site before and to display personalized pages that correspond to his preferences. In cookies, you can find text information that is necessary for the correct operation of the web resource (for example, the client's login and password). In this case, when moving from page to page, the site will not require you to enter your data again.

Cookies are actively used in online stores. Thanks to them, if a user accidentally closed a website page or browser, after the next login, his cart and viewed products will be saved. This is convenient for buyers, because they do not have to search again for what has been selected.
